A LED ring light is a must-have for influencers: It gives the finishing touches to vlogs and blog posts. With the ‘SpotLight FoldUp’ and ‘SpotLight Steady 120’ LED ring lights, the accessories manufacturer Hama is introducing two practical gadgets that serve different requirements.
On both models, the colour temperature, ranging from warm white to daylight bright, can be set to 3000, 4500 or 6000 kelvins using the cable remote control. The light intensity can also be changed. There are ten levels of brightness, from radiantly bright to pleasantly dimmed.
A fun feature is the charming-eye effect: Ring light reflections add a glow to the eyes. Here, it doesn’t matter whether the image is taken in vertical or horizontal format – a smartphone holder with ballhead and flexible gooseneck ensures the necessary flexibility.
If you take a closer look at each model, you will notice the compact size of the ‘SpotLight FoldUp’. It conveniently folds up and can be stowed in the base – perfect if you need to travel to different locations. When set up, it can be extended from at least 52 cm to a maximum of 138 cm, whereby it can be used as a table light and also lends itself to larger scenes. The ‘SpotLight Steady 120’, on the other hand, is a fully fledged tripod for those who have bigger plans. Made of robust and lightweight aluminium – with legs that can be fully spread out and extended in three places to up to 215 cm – it is perfectly suited to taking shots standing. A ballhead that can be rotated in all possible directions guarantees the most unusual angles.
