On the back side of the packaging we see many small pictures of the mouse pad lit up. It shows the buttons on the top of the mouse pad. The RGB on and off button, as well as brightness levels. We also have the complete technical specs. On the sides of the packaging, the product name is shown.
Inside the box, there is a plastic shell, protected by a small piece of foam and the mousepad is wrapped in plastic. Besides the mousepad, in the box we can find:

Closer look
The Tt eSports Draconem RGB Cloth Edition Gaming Mouse Pad is a medium sized gaming mouse pad with RGB Illumination. The base of the mousepad is made out of rubber and has a very nice stick to the table, keeping it in place nicely. The cable is simple, not braided and has a gold-plated USB connector.
On top, the design is plain and simple, having the Tt eSPORTS dragon logo on the top left side of the otherwise all-black design. The surface of the mousepad is cloth with textured weave for superior tracking, movement, accuracy and responsiveness and the overall thickness is about 4mm. We have two buttons at the top of the mousepad for the RGB lighting (the left one is the On/Off and brightness button and the right one is the button that sets the preset RGB functions).
Software
You can customize the mousepad with the DRACONEM RGB software (so not the standard Thermaltake software). The software allows you to adjust and customize all your lighting effects, colors, brightness and speed. The software looks very similar to the TT PREMIUM X1 RGB gaming software but has fewer functions. We can create 3 predefined profiles to use and easily switch to and we can switch between the 4 lighting effects (static, wave, pulse and spectrum). Each effect has some individual additional settings to play with and we have a graphical view of how the mousepad will look like with the settings applied.
The modes in detail:
- Spectrum Running; This mode cycles all of the main colors one at a time. It can be sped up or slowed down. The brightness can also be adjusted.
- Pulse: This is 1 color that turns on and then off again. You can set it to one static color or you can randomize it. The brightness can be adjusted as well.
- Wave: Multiple colors run along the outside edge of the mousepad. This can be set to run either clockwise or counterclockwise. The brightness can be adjusted as well.
- Static: This is one color of your choice that is always on.
On the top, next to the 3 profile tabs is a button that says fingerprint (for the touch ID version of the mopusepad). When you click on it a window pops up and asks for your password to log into the computer. After you enter it a new screen shows 2 hands, and each hand has a clickable finger. It asks what finger you would like to register by clicking on it before clicking continue. The process to register the fingerprint is similar to the phones fingerprint mechanism but the sensor is not that accurate.
Performance
We’ve looked over all the features and now it is time to put the mousepad to the test. The surface is decent, but the control panel positioning right in the middle section on the top is a bit tricky as your mouse wide might get tangled or stuck into it.
To test the mousepad we used MouseTester Software Reloaded (version 1.5.3). Here are the results:
Conclusion
Tt eSports Draconem RGB Cloth Edition Gaming Mouse Pad is more than just a simple mouse pad. It has great RGB lights, so you get a lot for the €30 price tag, but not everything is perfect. The lights are not that perfect, the control panel is placed in an area where your mouse cable can get caught into, it requires a different software to control and the cable is not braided. You are basically lacking more premium features, but the value is where it needs to be, so for the price you get a lot of features you won’t get from other product.
