Introduction
For a while now, Thermaltake is making a name for itself in the PC gaming scene, starting with the Tt eSports moniker and not too long ago they are pushing forward the Tt Premium name. We recently reviewed the X1 RGB Cherry MX Blue Keyboard, Tt eSports Draconem RGB Touch Edition Gaming Mouse Pad and the Tt eSPORTS Iris Optical RGB Gaming Mouse. A gaming set is never complete without a proper gaming headset, so here’s a forth Tt eSPORTS product to go with the bunch: the Tt eSPORTS Shock Pro RGB Gaming Headset. This headset features 40mm neodymium drivers and has a sleek and minimalistic design. They are light weight and are designed to be a comfort fit on any head size and ear size. They have 256 color illumination with 7 preset colors and 2 lighting effects.

Packaging and Accessories
The Tt eSPORTS Shock Pro RGB Gaming Headset comes packed inside the typical Tt eSPORTS packaging with mostly back background and red accents on the top. The front side has a side view picture of the headset and the ear cups in 7 different colors. The box specifies that the headset is compatible with multiple platforms including PC, MAC, Xbox One, PS4 and mobile phones.
The backside has the same design as is on the front side and it includes another picture of the headset and the specifications are listed here.
The left side contains pictures of the ear cups in three different colors and the right side has a list of the most important 4 features of the headset: RGB Illumination, enhanced bass, auto adjusting headband and 25mm ear cushion.

Closer look
The Tt eSPORTS Shock Pro RGB Gaming Headset have a classic design, with nothing flashy out of the box. The headset feels light even though it has big 40mm drivers. The auto adjustment headband has a wide padded section, which means the headset fits all head sizes out of the box.
The cable is long and braided (which is great) and has 2 3.5mm jacks for the headphones and the microphone and one USB cable for the RGB illumination.
The ear cups are large and have a matte black finish with leather foam paddings. The ear cup with is 25mm and the audio driver is covered in a black clothing. On the side of the cups we have the controls. We have a volume control wheel, a microphone mute switch, and a lighting control button.
The microphone is retractable and well hidden within the left ear cup. The microphone is rather small and made out of plastic.
Lighting
The Tt eSPORTS Shock Pro RGB Gaming Headset features 256 RGB Illumination with 7 preset colors and 2 lighting effect modes: pulse jumping and single color pulse mode, so we have a mode that switches colors every few seconds and a mode that features a single color with a pulse effect. Nothing too spectacular here. Having just these options a need for a software is not justified and the the lighting effect can be controlled using the dedicated LED color switch button on the left hand side ear cup.
Performance
We’ve looked over all the features and now it is time to put the headset to the test. Testing a headset quality is subjective so we will have to try it out in games, movies and of course, music. But lets talk about the comfort first. The headset is pretty light but the ear pads are quite rigid, and having a fixed, auto adjustment headband means you can’t do much to customize it for your needs. Having large ear pads, they cover the ears pretty good, but there’s quite a lot of pressure there and it gets uncomfortable at times. Comparing the headset with other alternatives in it’s price range, you can probably get something more comfortable, without the lights though.
When it comes to gaming, we can say that the sound is decent. We’ve tested the headset in several fps games and the headset done a good job.
Watching movies with the headset on was not what we expected, but they can do the job.
Testing the headset in music….well we don’t recommend using this specific headset with music, as they lack a lot of quality.
Conclusion
The Tt eSPORTS Shock Pro RGB Gaming Headset are not bringing anything new to the gaming industry and they are not a top end solution, but they are a decent pick if you have a low budget. For the price of 60 Euro you get a versatile headset that works on your PC, consoles and mobile devices, that has RGB lights and a good, simple design.
